As anyone who knows me knows, I always regarded my Grandfather as more of a father figure. My biological father left the picture when I was quite young, and my Gramp did everything he could to fill that roll. From fishing trips, long stays at the park, to summers spent at camp filled with boat rides & frog races. He was an avid musician, a hobby we shared and bonded over a great deal over the years. He gave me my first guitar, and always encouraged me to pursue my musical passions.
His love was solid, supportive, and unconditional.
Many of the best memories I have are shared with him.
I think in this life, some of us are lucky enough to have several “loves of our life.” Somewhere along the way, you realize they won’t all be romantic. Without a doubt, my grandfather was one of mine. It is so hard to imagine moving forward without him. But through the lessons and love he instilled in me & the memories I hold dear, I will carry him with me. In that way, he lives on.
I love you so much, Grampy.
