Wellington – Derreck S. Bard, 33, passed away unexpectedly February 11, 2019, at his home. He was born August 28, 1985, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Rick A. and Shelley L. (Woodard) Bard. Derreck liked watching football, music, and fishing. He especially loved hanging out with his favorite cousins and hunting with Gramps. Derreck will be remembered as jokester with a big heart for those in need who loved kids and older people.

 

He is survived by his mother, Shelley of Wellington; maternal grandmother, Donna Woodard of Harmony; paternal grandmother, Eleen Bard of Lincoln; four aunts, Lou-Ann Burgess of Harmony, Michelle Merrill and her husband, Eric Howes of Clinton, Mary Elliott and Susan Young, both of Massachusetts; three uncles, Stanley Woodard of Harmony, his special “Uncle Mike” Bard of Bangor, and Wilfred Bard Jr. of Massachusetts; special cousins, Donna Jean Woodard and her daughter, Kassie Barton, Dustin Woodard, Betsy Merrill and her children, Emily and Aubrey Leavitt, Ryan Merrill, Sheldon Woodard, Shawn Woodard, and Todd Tweedie; and many other cousins and extended family. Derreck was predeceased by his father, Rick; maternal grandfather, Sheldon Woodard; and paternal grandfather, Wilfred Bard Sr.

 

A memorial service will be held 1PM Saturday, February 16, 2019, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, with Pastor Phil McGlauflin officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
