Derreck, you were my cousin but we were so close growing up and throughout our lives that you were more like a brother. You were always there for me whenever I needed anything, no matter what- no questions asked and no judgement. I am thankful that you were such a big part of my life. I love you so much.
I know you are at peace now and you finally get to hug Grampy and your Dad again. I know we will see each other again. Until that day comes I will be thinking of you and loving you.

Derrick was a sweet soul who always greeted me with a big bear hug and an I love you. He helped in anyway he could when he could. He was cherished by his parents and his family. The system did not work for him and he felt no other way out. My heart is breaking for Shelley, we have to remember the pain and war that was in his head is gone for him, but Not for the ones we left behind. Love you always cousin Derreck.
