Obituary of Gary A. Robinson Sr.
Milo - Gary A. Robinson, Sr., 84 passed away peacefully August 14, 2018, at his home. He was born January 6, 1934, in Howland, the son of Clinton C. and Leona (Clark) Robinson.
Gary was very active in the Milo Community. He was a man of faith and very active in the churches he attended over the years. He loved high school sports and was a very familiar figure at basketball games. He was also an avid fan of the Maine Women’s Basketball team and enjoyed being able to travel with them when they went on their trip to Italy. Another passion was raising and racing horses. He had many successful careers in his life from logging to hydro management/building hydro dams; the highlight being the dedication of the W. Charleston, Vermont dam in his name.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Jean (Mace) Robinson; three sons, Gary Jr. and his companion, Susan, of Milo, Clarence and his wife, Susan, of Hermon, and John and his wife, Jennifer, of Windham; two daughters, Diane Perry and husband, Peter, of New Gloucester, and Suzanne and her husband, Mark, of Tomah, Wisconsin; daughter in-law, Valerie Robinson of Hermon; brother, Alan Robinson of Jamaica Plains, Massachusetts; sister-in-law Beulah Robinson of Florida; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Clinton, and grandson, Preston.
Friends and family may visit 6-8 pm Friday, August 17, 2018, at the Lary Funeral Home, 31 Elm St, Milo. A funeral service will be held 11AM Saturday, August 18, 2018, at The River Church, 146 Center St, Bangor, with Rev. Stephen Sinclair officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery, Milo. A reception will be held at 2PM at the Park Street United Methodist Church, Milo.
