Milo- Barbara J. (Russell) Gonzales, 71, passed away May 18, 2018, at New Beginnings, Milo. She was born May 26, 1946, in Milo, the daughter of Phillip and Virginia (Russell) Barden.  Barbara attended Milo schools and graduated from Milo High School, Class of 1964. She worked for more than 30 years at Dexter Shoe Company, Milo. Barbara loved all animals, especially horses, goats, cats, and dogs.  She also loved getting into mischief with her life long friend, and partner in crime, Ellen DeWitt.

 

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Tony Gonzales; two daughters, Lorinda Canney and her significant other, Roger Bivins, and Bonnie Herbest and her husband, Kevin; two sons, Ronnie Towne and his wife, Lori, and Sean Towne; five grandchildren, Kayla Bailey, Christopher McCleary, Allie Towne, Emily Herbest, and Abby Herbest; great-grandson, Tanner McCleary; sister, Virginia Foss and her husband, Larry; and many extended family members and friends.  She was predeceased by her son, Tony Gonzales II.

 

The family wishes to thank all the staff at New Beginnings in Milo for their compassionate and loving care of Barbara.

 

A graveside memorial service will be held 3PM Friday, June 8, 2018, at the Evergreen Cemetery, Milo, with Pastor Stephen Dean officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to P.AW.S, 39 Clinton Street, Milo, Maine 04463. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
