Obituary of Rocco V. Pizzo
Abbot- Rocco V. Pizzo, 52, passed away January 22, 2017, at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born April 14, 1964, in Westbrook, the son of Peter P. and Leonice M (Glidden) Pizzo.
Rocco attended Westbrook High School and then University of Maine at Orono studying forestry. While at UMO, Rocco met the most amazing people who have been a big part of his life. Rocco loved his family and LOVED being a great Dad. Rocco loved kayaking, hunting, fishing and all the stories that always followed. His greatest love was his family, friends and the great outdoors. Rocco will be missed every day by all the people that he touched with a witty joke to make you smile. Rock on Rocco we will forever hear your music.
Rocco is survived by his loving wife, Laurie (Carle) Pizzo; his parents; his daughter, Izabelle; his sister, Darlene Rowan and her husband, Tom; his niece, Briana Grasruck and her husband Tony; and a great-niece, Mya, who fondly called him “Coco”. He is remembered by some very special aunts, uncles and cousins and will be greatly missed by his hunting camp and rafting buddies.
A memorial service will be held 1pm Saturday, January 28, at the Abbot Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Rogan Taylor officiating.
