Obituary of Alan T. Fairbanks

Harmony – Alan T. Fairbanks, 60, passed away January 18, 2017, peacefully in his sleep at his home, after a long battle with diabetes. He was born October 18, 1956, in Taunton, MA, and graduated from Southeastern Regional Technical High School. He was a disabled veteran of the U.S. Army and a former truck driver. Alan had been a volunteer fire fighter off and on throughout his life, served as Santa Claus for several years, and was a hunter safety instructor. He loved all animals, especially his dogs, and was an avid fan of NASCAR and WWE. Alan was predeceased by his parents, Julia (Glynn) Fairbanks and Herbert “Mickey” Fairbanks, and his beloved nephew, David S. Fairbanks, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Harmony; two brothers, Ralph Fairbanks and his wife, Cindy, of Norton, MA, and David Fairbanks and his companion, Cheryl, of Wellington; three step-children, Jeremy Monasmith and his wife, Natalee, of Olympia, WA, Naomi Malone and her husband, Jim, of Jenison, MI, and Rachel Monasmith of Kittery; two granddaughters, Harleigh and Evelyn Malone; five nieces; and several great-nephews, great-nieces, and cousins. A memorial service will be held 2pm, Saturday, February 4, 2017, at the Cambridge Baptist Church. Donations in his honor may be made to the American Cancer Society, Northern New England Region, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island, Ste 300, Topsham 04086-1240, or to the family to help with funeral and medical expenses.
