Dover-Foxcroft - Betty Smith, 88, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2022. She lived a beautiful, creative and free- spirited life. She enjoyed life to the fullest, making friends along the way and traveling whenever possible. She was an extremely hard worker always and took most pride in being a truck driver well before it was popular for women to do so. She loved all animals, big and small, but horses were her passion, owning several during her lifetime. Betty loved all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was proud of everyone’s accomplishments and how each generation pushed to do better and strive for more. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Della Cummings; a sister, Sylvia; and a son, Ronald. She is survived by her two brothers, Vaughn and Ronald; children, Melvin, Victoria and husband, Randy, Gary and wife, Junko, Mark, Ramona and husband, Darryl, and Joy; grandchildren, Brigette, Justin, Duane, Rae-ann, Jacob, Trevor, Tosha, Mark, Brandy, Angie and Ken; and great-grandchildren, Logan, Kortlyn, and August. Betty never liked being the center of attention and per her wishes there will be no services. She will be buried at the family plot in Barnard, ME privately. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in Betty’s honor to the Bangor Humane Society 693 Mt Hope Ave, Bangor, ME 04401.
