Obituary of James W. Parkman
Sangerville - “Jim” Wesley Parkman, 54, made his final inappropriate and probably sarcastic comment on March 5, 2016. He was born February 3, 1962, the son of Wesley Earl and Constance Ann (Alden) Parkman.
Jim served his country in the United States Coast Guard and the United States Army consecutively. Later, he worked in manufacturing and woods industry jobs before launching his own landscaping company. Jim was an avid outdoorsman, and was even seen pulling a few trout up through the ice last month, despite recent mobility challenges. When indoors, Jim could most often be found with a good book, and his canine companion, Mickey. Making others laugh brought Jim great joy; he will always be remembered for his clever sense of humor. Jim is loved by family and friends, and will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, Jim leaves behind a daughter, Krystle (Parkman) Bean, and her husband, Randy Bean, of Hudson; a sister, Sheila Grant, and her husband, Gary Grant, of Parkman; a nephew, Jonathan Grant of Augusta and his fiancé, Kim Jordan; a niece, Rebecca Grant of Old Town; uncles, Duane Parkman and Alton Libby of Dover-Foxcroft and Brian Parkman of Old Town; an aunt, Inez Carey of Howland; and a cousin, Angel Carey of Brewer; a special lifelong best friend, Jonathan Richards and his wife Marlene Richards of Windsor. He was predeceased by a cousin, Michael Carey.
There will be a Celebration of Jim’s life for immediate family and close friends, with date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send a memorial contribution to the Maine Audubon Brook Trout Survey Project, 20 Gilsland Farm Road, Falmouth, ME 04105. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Condolences and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
