Dover-Foxcroft - Betty Libby Arno, 78, passed away unexpectedly at her home on December 9, 2021. She was born on April 10, 1943, to Peter and Mamié (Bouley) Libby. Raised all of her life in Dover-Foxcroft, she graduated from Foxcroft Academy in 1961 and in 1963 married Gerald “Jake” Arno. Betty and Jake made their home in Dover-Foxcroft for the next 58 years. In addition to Jake, Betty is survived by her sons, Scott and his wife, Angie, of Bowerbank, Peter and his wife, Tracey, of Bangor, and Chris and his wife, Diane, of Dover-Foxcroft; grandchildren, Adrianna Graves of Marshfield, MA, Whitney Carter and her husband, Jordan, of Ellsworth, Blake Arno, Dylan and Carter Coy, all of Dover-Foxcroft, Mariah Gagné and her husband, Eliot, of Las Vegas, NV, Lindsey Arno of Farmington, Madison and Hunter Arno of Bangor, Annalise Arno of Dover-Foxcroft, and Carter Starbird of Guilford; and great-grandchildren, Marissa Bloom and Connor Hurley of Marshfield, MA. Throughout her life, Betty worked at a number of different jobs around Dover-Foxcroft, where she made many life-long friends. Her main focus was raising her three children and always being present in the lives of her grandchildren, who she considered her pride and joy, participating in thousands of memorable moments with them at her home, camp on Sebec Lake and special trips with them to Prince Edward Island and Disney World. Those who knew Betty understood that the most important things in her life were her family, Pepsi and Facebook, in that order. Betty loved her family, her home, and her many friends and extended family members she stayed connected with in the Dover-Foxcroft area, as well as her French-Canadian family in the Ft. Kent area. Private memorial services will be announced at a later time. Anyone wishing, may make a donation in her name to the Foxcroft Academy Class of 1961 Fund, 975 West Main Street, Dover-Foxcroft, Me 04426: Attention Cathy Hall. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Condolences and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
