Linda “Lynn” Elaine Hallman-Hayes 1959 – 2021 Linda Elaine Hallman-Hayes passed away at her home September 6th, 2021, in Milo, Maine. She was born in West Palm Beach, FL on the 29th of October 1959 to her mother, Catherine Ann Price-Hallman, and father, Daris Dane Hallman. She was raised alongside her brothers and sisters Todd, Loraine, Douglas, and Rhonda Hallman. On August 31st, 1984, she was Married to Harold Rhea Hayes Jr. and was an amazingly loving mother, or “Momma” to two children in Ashley LeeAnn and Dane Andrew Hayes. Throughout her life she had a passion for people and interacting with them which is in keeping with her faith in Jesus Christ. She excelled as the Lifestyle Editor of the Big Spring Herald News Paper. A talent that would prove useful again in what she would say is her greatest professional accomplishment: She mothered tens of thousands of recruit family members through United States Marine Corps boot camp and beyond by running support groups on social media over the span of a decade. For this reason, she will always be “Forever a MoM”. Her family knew her as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Or as her grandchildren April, Noah, Scarlett, and Halden knew her- “Ginga”. Linda loved her family “with all her heart and soul”. So much that others in the family were challenged to exert their love even more. Lynn was one of those extraordinary souls that left a deep footprint in the lives of all she touched, and yes, she touched many! Those lucky enough to get close to her were always better for the experience. Her friends and family will remember her as the life of the party…even if there was no party. With an unmatched sense of humor and kind-heartedness, she brought out the best in people who were in her presence. Perhaps one of the most magnetic aspects of our dear friend was her personality. Lynn’s energy would arrive in a room before she crossed the threshold. A huge and welcoming smile coupled with her quickness to laugh made being in her presence delightful. She was a belly laugh, slap your knee kinda gal and seldom missed an opportunity to let her joy be heard. There was no keeping this light under a bushel, she let it shine. But that was who she was. Lynn was truly compassionate and giving. Regardless of one’s vices, she was supportive almost to a fault. She was genuinely concerned with others’ well-being and restoration. Heaven must’ve needed a “Mother of Marines” (MoM) to watch over them and keep them in check! Now, she is a member of the great cloud of witnesses cheering us all on in the race… but also laughing at us as we make mistakes in a jesting manner. Rest in Peace, you beautiful soul. She is survived by her mother, Catherine Hallman; brother, Todd Hallman; sister, Rhonda O’Donnell; son, Dane Hayes; daughter, Ashley Hayes; and grandchildren, April Badger, Noah Badger, Scarlett Hayes, and Halden Hayes. Her last wish was as follows: “I want everyone to know I loved them very much. I want my children and grandchildren to know they mean everything to me and have made me so proud to be their mom and grandmother” A celebration of life will be held in Boone, NC with family and friends at 2pm on October 29th, 2021.
