Obituary of Donna Marie Sands

Please share a memory of Donna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dover-Foxcroft – Donna Marie Sands, 74, born October 11, 1946, joined her heavenly family on June 21, 2021. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and dear friend to all who had the joy of knowing her. Donna’s early years were filled with family camping trips, stays at Sebec Lake and cookouts. Before becoming a resident at Hibbard’s Nursing Home, Donna was an active weekly volunteer there for many years. She helped the residents with puzzles and Bingo, helped them read their mail, and spent time just talking with them. Before her passing Donna could still be seen with a big friendly smile, talking and sharing family memories. She will be dearly missed. She is the daughter of the late Albert G. Sands. Her mother, Flora M. Sands, is a resident at Hibbard’s. Her mother quoted Donna as the #1 child of six children to Albert and Flora. Donna is survived by her brothers, Roger and his wife, Diane, Tom and his wife, Cathy, Joe and his wife, Connie, James and his wife, Lori; and a sister, Diane and her husband, Tim Robinson. Donna leaves 13 nieces and nephews. A small memorial service will be held at 1:00 to 3:00 pm Sunday, June 27, 2021, at Diane Robinson’s house, 81 North Street, Dover-Foxcroft. In lieu of flowers, please do as Donna did for years, and volunteer your time in your local community. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Condolences and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
