Dover-Foxcroft - Christopher Charles Briggs, 51, died peacefully while surrounded by his loved ones, after losing his fight with cancer. He was born at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft. Christopher was predeceased by his older brother, Joel Briggs. He is survived by his parents, Gary and Maureen (Preble) Briggs; his sister, Kelly Briggs; his brother, Kevin Briggs and his husband, Mark McLaughlin; his daughter, Paige Howell; his son, Christopher Briggs, Jr. and his partner, Callie Theodore; his grandchildren, Aubrey, Scarlett, and Adalyn; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his beloved cat, Cody Bub. Chris was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He had an uncanny ability to remember jokes. He was quick with his wit and liked to make people laugh. Chris was very kind and considerate toward others and always willing to lend a helping hand. Chris worked for his father since he was 6 years old. He continued working at Briggs Plumbing and Heating throughout his life. Chris loved hunting, fishing, boating, and cruising around in his yellow, Cougar convertible with the tunes blasting. He was very ingenuitive, was like a real-life MacGyver, and could fix anything. A memorial service for close family and friends will be held 3:00 pm Thursday, June 24, 2021, at the Sebec Village Church. A burial will be held at a later date.
