Obituary of Glenn A. Perkins

Brownville – It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Glenn A. Perkins, on June 14, 2021. Glenn was born September 12, 1953, in Bangor, to Leon G. Perkins and Nona Mae (Thurston). Glenn grew up in Orono. He graduated from Orono High School and the University of Maine with a degree in Forest Management. Glenn worked for Joseph A. Sewell Co., was a Professors Assistant at the University of Maine, and worked for Great Northern Paper for 26 years. While working for Great Northern Paper he served in many different capacities of Forest Management. He loved his years working in the woods. When he retired from the woods he began his own carpentry business. He ended his work life working for L and L Management. Glenn married his high school sweetheart and best friend, Lisa (Mason), in 1975. They shared 46 special years together. Glenn loved Maine, the woods, the ponds and the lakes (especially West Lake). He loved hunting, hiking, fishing, especially fly-fishing, in his favorite spots on the mountains. He has passed this love onto his boys, who are now passing it on to their children. He loved his trips to Florida with Lisa and Janice to visit Jim and Beth. He also found it hard to drive past a good yard sale. Glenn was predeceased by his parents, Nona and Leon; his baby sister, Susan Perkins; and special in-laws, Fred and Louise Mason. He leaves behind his wife, Lisa and their three sons, Derek, Dustin, and Devin; his precious daughters-in-law, Lillian and Christina; and his four angels, Adalai, Dehlia, Ethan and Elaina, who knew him as Papa. He also leaves two brothers, Thomas Perkins and wife Stephanie, and Leon ”Sandy” Perkins, Jr; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no funeral but if people would like to donate in Glenn’s memory they may do so to the Penquis Valley High School Athletic Department, 48 Penquis Drive, Milo, ME 04463. Glenn and Lisa spent many happy hours watching their boys play basketball, soccer and baseball and always valued the importance of team sports. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
