So sad to hear of Alan’s passing. He saved the Sloat family from perishing in a house fire in 1968. He was on his way home from a dance in Dexter and saw that the barn attached to our house on South Street in Dover was all ablaze. We were all asleep and he burst into the kitchen yelling “Fire! Fire!” I feel certain we owe him our lives. RIP ❤️
