Obituary of Peter Wayne Herring

Please share a memory of Peter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
GUILFORD, ME - Peter Wayne Herring, 61, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2021, after a long illness. Pete was born on April 28th, 1960, to Gordon D. Herring and Dorothy Lyford Herring. Pete was well liked by all, as he was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed one. An avid fisherman, Pete loved nothing more than "Getting a Line Wet". Peter worked for many years in the manufacturing businesses of Guilford dividing his time at Pride Mfg. and more recently at Hardwood Products. He will be sadly missed by his sisters, Susan H. Perkins (Mike Schneider), Jane H. Hoffman (Lenny Ferris), and nephew Chris Perkins and wife Megan, all of Sarasota, Fl. He leaves behind two brothers, James Herring and wife Eileen of Bradenton, Fl. and Steven Herring. He loved dearly his Uncle Doug and Aunt Marlene Lyford of Dover-Foxcroft, Me. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Herbert and Doris Herring and maternal grandparents, Byley and Verna Lyford. He also lost a very special nephew, Isaac Herring, and his best friend, Stuart Perkins. Sadly, just recently, Peter also lost his longtime faithful companion Dorothy Pooler of Guilford. The family of Peter Herring wish to thank his friends Ron Eaton and Janice Rawley for the special care they gave to Pete in his final months. There will be no funeral services at this time and his final resting place will be in the Dover Cemetery. Anyone wishing to make a donation in his memory, should do so to the ASPCA as he loved all animals. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
