Obituary of Laurie Sue Hunt

Please share a memory of Laurie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Parkman - Laurie Sue (Leonard) Hunt, 65, passed away peacefully at her home, April 30, 2021, surrounded by her husband and children after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September, 18, 1955, in Milo, the daughter of Norman and Patricia (Doble) Leonard. Laurie lived to be outdoors, whether gardening or relaxing by the pool, she was often found outside. She loved camping and brook fishing as much as she loved reading a book with her toes stuck in the sand on the beach. When not outside, Laurie was in her craft room sewing. Many Christmas gifts were created by hand, from wall hangings to placemats. Her real love was shown in quilting, which she gave away so others could feel her warmth. Laurie cherished time with her grandchildren, Cody and Kara, and especially loved to cheer Cody on while he played baseball. She enjoyed time with her sister, Susan, looking forward to her visits. She spent 40 years married to the light of her life, Gary. Together, there was nothing they couldn’t do. Laurie was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Patricia Leonard. She is survived by her husband, Gary Hunt of Parkman; and children, Amy Bradford and her husband, Thomas, of Vernon, AL, Matthew Comeau of Schoodic Lake, ME, Danielle Hunt of Southwick, MA, and Nicholas Hunt and his wife, Katie, with daughter, Bryn, all of Scarborough, ME; two sisters; a brother; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her two grandchildren, who will remember her and the wonderful times they spent together. A graveside memorial service will be held 9AM Monday, May 10, at the at Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
