Rockwood – Arvid John Laskey, 82, passed away peacefully, April 26, 2021, at his home with family by his side. He was born July 12, 1938, in Greenville, the son of George Sr. and Susie (Richardson) Laskey. Arvid worked as a contractor for many years; he started in the logging industry and moved to construction. He owned and operated Moose River Construction for 45 years. The outdoors was always a passion of Arvid’s; he enjoyed hunting and fishing and working as a Registered Maine Guide. Arvid is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jean Laskey; daughter, Kathy Hughes and her husband, Jason; two grandchildren, Brian Hughes and Nancy Guay; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Gracie Guay; brother, Clarence Laskey; sister, Mary Scribner; step-children, Margaret Dolan, Tammy Mott, and C. Ted Mott; special nephew and hunting buddy, George Scribner; nephews, Tommy Laskey and Eric Ingalls; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was predeceased by Kathy’s mother, Nancy Laskey; daughter, Tracy Lee Laskey; parents, George and Susie Laskey; brothers, William, Merrill, George Jr., and Milford Laskey; and sisters, Melissa Pecararo and Irene Laskey. Visiting hours will be held 5-7pm Friday, April 30, 2021, at the Greenville Chapel of Lary Funeral Home, 2821 Pritham Avenue. Burial will be at the family lot 10am Friday, May 28, 2021, in the Greenville Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
