GREENVILLE – William E. Martin, 76, devoted and loving husband of 55 years to the love of his life, Emily J. (Fortier) Martin, passed away peacefully on December 9th 2020, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 26, 1944 in Greenville, son of the late Charles S. Martin Sr. and Marjorie A. (Pickett) Martin. Bill had many careers over the course of his life. He worked over a decade for Scott Paper Company where he made many friends and shared stories of hijinks and rides to work with his co-workers. Bill is best known as Manager of Indian Hill Trading Post for ten years. He was fondly referred to as “Wild Bill on the Hill” by co-workers and the community who loved and respected him. In his later years Bill worked for Ricky Craven Motorsports. He had many grand adventures and met many interesting people. In addition to his loving wife, Emily, Bill is survived by his brother, Herbert Martin and his wife, Beatrice of Greenville; son, Shawn Martin and his fiancée, Ronnie-Jo Nevells of Bangor, and three grandsons, Dylan, Bailey & Charlie Martin; daughter, Heidi (Martin) St. Jean, granddaughter, Emily Patrick, and great-granddaughter, Jaclyn McClintick, all of Greenville; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Martin Jr. “Well done thy good and faithful servant.” Matt: 25:21 No services will be held. Bill loved his family fiercely and spent his life giving back to others. In honor of his memory, the family requests giving back to others in any way you choose.
