Greenville- Beatrice B. (Shaw) Laskey, wife of Clarence E. Laskey, passed away peacefully December 3, 2020, at the Charles A. Dean Memorial Nursing Home, Greenville. She was born April 30, 1926, in Greenville, the daughter of Leighton H. and Geneva H. (Prosser) Shaw. Bea worked for Travelers Insurance in Hartford, CT, for many years until her retirement. She liked traveling, especially for golf tournaments. Bea was a wonderful cook and thoroughly enjoyed it. Church was important to her and she rarely missed a Sunday; she was a faithful member of the New Life Church in Greenville. In addition to her loving husband, Clarence, Bea is survived by her son, Robert Brewer; daughter, Stephanie Ranney-Shaw; granddaughter, Kelly Jackson, 5 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Whitney; one granddaughter, Michelle Barrett; two great-grandchildren, Shawn Donnelly and Rachael Donnelly; two great-great grandchildren, Lucas and Vincent Donnelly; stepson, Thomas Laskey; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Dennis Brewer; brothers, Arthur and Merlin Shaw; two sisters, Goldina Turner and Elsie Bouley; and stepdaughter, Jacqueline Munzer. Visiting hours will be 2-4PM Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at the Greenville Chapel of the Lary Funeral Home, located in the Masonic building, 281 Pritham Avenue. The family asks that people wear masks and respect social distancing. A graveside funeral service will be held in the family lot in the Greenville Cemetery in the spring.
