Obituary of Betty E. Adams
Abbot – Betty E. Adams, 88, passed away October 4, 2020, at Hibbard Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born March 28, 1932, in Parkman, the daughter of Sterling and Iola (Perkins) Hersey. Betty’s working career was spent at Hardwood Products in Guilford. In her spare time, she spent many hours serving snacks and dinners at the Abbot Evangelical Free Church, and at Meals for Me. Betty was a very giving person with her time.
Betty was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Alvin. She is survived by two daughters, Pam Doodeman and Diane Rollins, both of Abbot; a brother, Sterling Hersey of Blanchard; two sisters, Nora Hersey of Sebec and Betty Walker of Bingham; five grandchildren; and some very dear in-laws.
A special thank you is extended to the staff in the Special Care Unit for the care, compassion, and love that they gave her over the years.
A memorial graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2020, at the family lot in Blanchard Cemetery, Abbot, with Pastor Ray Beless officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Condolences and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
