Obituary of June Fogg Shaw

Greenville – June Fogg Shaw, 98, passed away July 29, 2020, at Northern Light C.A. Dean Memorial Hospital. She was born June 3, 1922, in Rockwood, the second daughter of Ralph and Blanche (Bowen) Fogg. June attended Rockwood schools and graduated from Higgins Classical Institute, Class of 1940. She worked for three years as a switchboard operator at Pittston Farms and Rockwood. She moved to Greenville in 1943 and went to work at the Atlas Plywood Corporation for many years. She also worked for 25 years at C.A. Dean Memorial Hospital as a CNA. June married Gordon Shaw in 1945. She was a member of the Union Congregational Church for over 60 years, a long-time member and past president of The Ready Workers Society, and a volunteer at the Food Cupboard and Thrift Shop. She enjoyed her hobbies of sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, and tatting. She also enjoyed trips to Trenton for lobster and riding around Schoodic Point. June and Gordon spent many happy hours fishing off the dock at Lily Bay and trolling Moosehead Lake. June was predeceased by her parents; husband, Gordon; brothers, Ralph and Donald; and sister, Clara. She is survived by her brother, George, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends are invited to call 1-3 pm Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A funeral service will be conducted 1:30pm Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at the Union Evangelical Church in Greenville, with Rev. Genise Stern officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in Greenville Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Condolences and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
