Obituary of Robert G. Archibald
SANGERVILLE, ME - Robert "Bob" G. Archibald passed away peacefully on June 18, 2016, at Kennebunk Center for Health and Rehabilitation, Kennebunk, ME. Bob was born May 31, 1939, in Beverly, MA, to Earle and Laura (MacDonald) Archibald. He graduated Beverly High School in the class of 1957, at which point he served in the United States Air Force. In 1968 he married his loving wife, Gloria (Twarog) of Salem, MA and began his career at Van Waters and Rogers as a tractor trailer driver. A few short years later, now with their young children, they moved to Ipswich, MA where they resided for over 25 years. During that period, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family, while still engaging in his favorite passions of hunting and fishing. Upon retirement, Bob and Gloria decided to pursue a dream of "their place in the woods" and moved to Sangerville, ME, where he continued his passions.
Bob was predeceased by his wife, Gloria; his sister, Carolyn Haskell of Connecticut; and his parents, Earle and Laura Archibald. He is survived by his son, Keith and his wife, Michelle, and their children, Connor and Emily, all of Kennebunk; a daughter, Shannon, of Haverhill, MA; a brother, Paul and his wife, Carole, of Beverly, MA; and his "little buddy", Thumpa the Beagle.
