Dover-Foxcroft – Alvin D. Mulherin, 82, husband of Hilda (Davis) Mulherin, passed away February 16, 2020, at his residence. He was born August 4, 1937, in Orneville, ME, the son of David W. and Verna (Hoxie) Mulherin. Alvin had worked in construction for many years. He especially loved spending time at camp, going on ATV and motorcycle rides with family and friends, and he enjoyed his extensive music collection. Alvin was predeceased by his parents, and his son, Mark. He is survived by his wife, Hilda; two sons, Brian Mulherin and wife, Sheri, of Dover-Foxcroft, and Allen “Rick” F. Reese and husband, Jarod Thayne, of Manchester, NH; a daughter, Tina (Reese) Altieri and her husband, John, of Winslow, ME; two brothers, Scott Mulherin and his wife, Marianne, of Greenfield, MA, and Terry Mulherin and his wife, Judy, of Shelton, CT. He leaves five beloved grandchildren: Gabriel Schmand, whom he shared a special bond with, Sean Mulherin, Brendon Mulherin, Kerrie Guptil, and Nathan Richards. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring; a notice will be publicly posted at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
