Obituary of Charelle Rene Goodine

Please share a memory of Charelle to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dover-Foxcroft and Hampden – Charelle Rene Goodine, 51, passed on to her heavenly home on February 10, 2020. She was born January 28, 1969, in Dover-Foxcroft, the loving daughter of Gregory and Cathie (Thomas) Goodine. Since birth she was faced with many physical challenges throughout her lifetime, yet in spite of them, she overcame each one with a loving spirit and a heartwarming smile, while touching many lives. She attended schools in Dover-Foxcroft and in 1988 graduated from Foxcroft Academy, which was her most cherished accomplishment. Those in attendance watched her bursting with pride as she walked across the stage on her crutches to receive her diploma, receiving a standing ovation. Charelle enjoyed country music, board games, and rug hooking. She was an active member of the United Baptist Church in Dover-Foxcroft for many years, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She endured over fifty surgeries with the promise that each would improve her life. In June 2019 she was faced with a terminal diagnosis of liver cancer. After having received countless miracles, she was assured that the Lord would keep his promise of heaven, and she chose to deny treatment, as she was in the final stage. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Goodine; her very special Gram Doore; and several aunts and uncles. Charelle loved her caregivers at Lee Residential Care, Kim and Peg, and we would like them all to know just how much we appreciate the loving care that Charelle was given. In addition, our grateful thanks are extended to Northern Light Hospice Care for their excellent nursing care. Visiting hours will be held 6-8pm Thursday, February 13, 2020, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. There will be a Celebration of Life at 11:00 am Friday, February 14 at the United Baptist Church, 146 East Main St, Dover-Foxcroft, with Pastors Chris Viera and David Gardner officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Rural Grove Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either of the following places which Charelle had attended for many years: Pine Tree Camp, 114 Pine Tree Camp Road, Rome, ME 04963, or to Amicus/Bouchea Center for Learning (supporting man and women with disabilities), 96 Thirteenth St, Bangor, ME 04401.
