Monson – Richard J. McDermott, 90, passed away January 12, 2020. He was born April 26, 1929, the son of John W. and Elsie Davis McDermott. After having served in the U.S. Army, being stationed in Germany, Richard moved his family to California in 1959. While there he worked on several orange ranches. After retiring he moved back to Maine Richard is survived by a son and three daughters, Chris and his wife, Karen, Robin and her husband, Lee, Kerry, and Mona and her husband, Scott; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; three sisters; and his twin brother. A Celebration of Richard’s Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in care of the Lary Funeral Home.
