Obituary of Kay Drinkwater Hanson
Guilford and Winthrop – Kay Drinkwater Hanson, 88, passed away peacefully January 6, 2020, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Long Term Care at Gray Birch, Augusta. She was born November 4, 1931, in Pittsfield, the daughter of Stanley F. and Ruth (Hatfield) Wiley. Kay was an outdoorswoman and loved camping, and spending time at camp on Lake Hebron in Monson. She enjoyed playing cards, crafting, and spending time with her family. Her winters were spent in Edgewater, Florida.
Kay is survived by her son, Scott Drinkwater; daughter, Linda Fencik; five grandchildren, Brianne, Molly, Jason, Lucas, and Katarina; eight great-grandchildren, Draven, Jordan, Destiny, Abigail, MacKenzie, Daisy, Jaida, and Eric Jr.; two great-great-grandchildren, Carli and Rayvennah; two step-sons, Dennis Hanson and his wife, Merrie, and Karl Hanson; step-daughter, Judith Davis; nephew, Peter Lavway; and niece, Suzanne Russo. Kay was predeceased by two husbands, Burton Drinkwater and Richard Hanson, and her son, Jeffrey Drinkwater.
A graveside funeral service will be held at the family lot in Elmwood Cemetery, Guilford, in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
