Obituary of Susan Jane Skillin
Cambridge - Susan Jane Skillin, 65, died October 31, 2019, as a result of an automobile accident in St. Albans. She was born March 27, 1954, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Elmer L. and Joyce (Howard) Folsom. Susan attended Cambridge schools and graduated from Piscataquis Community High School in Guilford. She attended the University of Maine at Presque Isle and Gordon College in Wenham, MA. She worked as a nanny, and at James Taylor Hospital, at C.A. Dean Memorial Hospital, at Mayo Regional Hospital, at Erda Leather, at SAD #4, and at Northeast Occupational Exchange for the last 19 years as Operations Manager. Her passions were her children and grandchildren, kayaking, arts and crafts, including diamond painting, and participating in the Cambridge Cruisers ATV Club.
Susan is survived by her husband, John Marcus Skillin of Cambridge; her son, Adam Skillin and his wife, Amanda, and their children, Aidan and Austin Skillin, and Alexis and Alicia London, all of Dover-Foxcroft; her father, Elmer Folsom and his wife, Phyllis, of Cambridge; and her grandson, Brandon Leavitt of Cambridge. She leaves her brothers, Stan Folsom, and wife, Rose, of Guilford, Stephen Folsom and wife, Shirley, of Lincoln and Boynton Beach, FL, and James Folsom and wife, Shelly, of Cambridge; her sister, Kathleen Davis and husband, Rex, of Whitehall, MT; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Joyce Folsom and a daughter, Jennifer and her unborn child, Elizabeth.
Visiting hours will be held 6-8pm Thursday, November 7, 2019, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, November 8, at the United Methodist Church in Guilford, with Rev. Ann Beach officiating.
