Obituary of Eva B. Young

 

 

Williamsburg – Eva B. Young, 77, passed away November 26, 2018, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft. She was born August 30, 1941, in Brownville, the daughter of Edward F. and Vivineen C. (Rollins) Ladd.  Eva had worked at Dexter Shoe Co. in Milo for a short time before becoming a devoted homemaker.  She had a passion for cooking and baking, making sure there was always a home cooked meal and delicious dessert for her family.  Eva had a special knack with animals, big and small, and enjoyed watching the birds. She was known for rescuing and rehabilitating animals in need. Eva loved the outdoors, especially the coast and her favorite lake, JoMary where she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She took pride in her gardening and would say she was “making America beautiful”, and that she did. Eva enjoyed crocheting and was very talented making many treasured gifts for her family and friends. She was always ready to put the needs of others first, whether it was for an animal, family or friends.

 

In addition to her beloved husband of 59 years, Thomas Young, Eva is survived by two sons, Eric Young and his significant other Leanne Bailey, and Mark Young and his wife, Cherilyn; two daughters, Marcia Conlogue and her husband, Hazen, Paula Young and her significant other, Tony Gilberti; a brother, Neil Ladd and his wife, Alice, and their children; and a sister-in law, Belinda (Young) Pike. She will be missed by her six beloved grandchildren, Nick Young, Ben Young, Tiffany Young, Alexa Grover, Marissa Grover, and Abigail Conlogue; and a great-grandson, Zack. She enjoyed her time with close friends, Carolyn Connelly of Waynesburg, PA; David and Cathy Dow of Barnard, ME and Loretta Grinnell of Milo, ME.  Eva was predeceased by her parents and a baby sister, Joanne.

 

The family would like to thank Hibbard Nursing Home, CHCS Hospice, Pine Tree Hospice, her doctors (Dr. Luthin and recently Dr. Peck), and others that took such wonderful care of her.

 

Graveside services in Barnard Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in her honor to Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mt.
