Obituary of Marjorie A. Morris

Dover-Foxcroft – Marjorie A. Morris, 80, long time companion of the late Ronald F. “Banjo Man” Coates, passed away November 23, 2018, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft. She was born January 4, 1938, in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Leon M. Sr. and Marjorie (McCracken) Vincent.

Nobody loved life more than Maury, she had a quick laugh and a sparkling intellect. She loved to read, loved to garden, and loved to take road trips when she was younger. Life wasn’t always easy, but she was triumphant and an inspiration to all who knew her. She was passionate about quilting which she won many blue ribbons for; beautiful quilts which many loved ones will enjoy - as she wrapped her love around us with each quilt she gifted. She remained close to her entire family, was especially proud to be a grandmother, and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by three sons, Michael Lawrence and wife Kim, of Texas; Scott Desmarais and wife Nicole (who was thought of as a daughter), of Dover-Foxcroft, and Jonathan Desmarais and wife Jennifer, of Tennessee; two daughters, Kendra Sheehan and her husband Rick, of Massachusetts, and Leona McNeil and her husband Ian, of New Hampshire; eight grandchildren, Devin McNeil, Laurel Ann Desmarais, Ali Desmarais, Catherine McNeil, Peyton Desmarais, Anna Desmarais, Emma Desmarais, and Madelyn Desmarais; two brothers, Francis Vincent and his wife Anne, and Peter Vincent, all of Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to Ronnie “Banjo Man”, she was predeceased by her brother, Leon Michael Vincent Jr.

Burial will be private in the Dover Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
