Obituary of Catherine E. McLaughlin

Greenville – Catherine E. McLaughlin, 94, went to be with her Lord November 5, 2018. She was born June 5, 1926, in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Frank J. and Regina C. (Breighner) McLaughlin.

Catherine attended school in Philadelphia until graduation at which time she entered the Convent of the Sisters of Mercy, Merion, PA. She entered the religious life in 1945, and stayed there until 1965, at which time she returned to Springfield, PA to care for her mother.

She moved to Rockwood in 1999 to become the housekeeper for Father Anthony Rotunno until 2008, at which time she moved to Greenville. Catherine remained in Greenville until June 1, 2012, when she moved to Winterberry Heights in Bangor.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Jean McLaughlin RSM of Merion, PA, and Marie Nicholson; and her brother, Frank J. McLaughlin. Catherine is survived by her brother-in-law, Bill Nicholson, and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church, Greenville in June 2019 with Rev. Fr. Aaron Damboise officiating. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Rockwood.
