Q: How did you meet Dwight?
A: I was a classmate of Woody's when we attended Hopkinton High School together in the late 60's and early 70's. I remember him vividly as a real smart guy who figured out things before many others of us in the class.
I do remember that Woody went on the Quinsigamond Community College where I also went. I am not sure if I remember being there at the same time.
I would think of Woody over the years from time to time and wondered where he was and what he did.
This morning, now over 50 years plus later I am thinking of Woody again and found his obituary on line. Not surprisingly he clearly made his mark on the world!
I will always have fond memories of Woody from our time in High School.
May his family be comforted by who he was, his deep commitment to his family, work and the communities he supported in so many ways.
Rest in Eternal Peace Woody.

Rick and I would like to extend our sympathy to all of Woody's family. He was a wonderful man and he showed everyone his YES YOU CAN attitude. Woody always stood for what is good and right for everyone, a shining star with wisdom beyond his years. As a young boy at our Camp Arrowhead Day Camp his positive attitude and blossoming creative abilities were a gift to everyone. Later, as a college student and an accomplished editorial writer for the regional newspaper, Woody was hired to work as a counselor at Camp Warren, a resident camp. These pioneering camps are still flourishing. Woody's inspirational influence has been felt by many campers, staff, and volunteers throughout the years. Thank you, Woody, for teaching me so much about overcoming a severe disability and living to the hilt of your capacity. Bless you, Dear Friend, your spirit lives on!

I am sorry to hear of Woody's passing. My grandmother Pauline was a resident at Hibbard Nursing Home and I always enjoyed seeing Woody- he was an inspiration. I really enjoyed listening to him sing during the musical events. Thinking of his family.

I was privileged to care for Woody for several years. He was truly awesome. He was the embodiment of a 'fighter," and through all his ups and downs remained hopeful and gracious. I was always frustrated that as his speech became more difficult I couldn't always "get" his wry humor. My thoughts are with his family who gave him such loving care for so long. You are all also an inspiration.

Woody was a true friend who laughed/smiled bringing cheer to anyone he was with and near. He provided for others while at the same time did things making people smile such as showing movie at D-F airport(done in the rain getting stuck in his chair),Christmas gift shopping, supervising Town Hall gatherings, and etc.Woody was a brilliant man too as seen working on the computer,writing books, and playing games an example of this would be playing checkers ,he dominated me so I taught him backgammon and after 5 tries he again was in control. Sorry to everyone related or connected with Woody as losing him will be a BIG lose for all but he will never be forgotten as he was an inspiration to all.

Woody, you were an inspiration to all who knew you. Your spirit will live in our hearts to remind us that perserverence is its own reward. Thank you for being a part of my life.
And right now I'm smiling as I recall so many jokes you could barely tell because you started laughing way before the punch line. Great memory. {hugs}
