I am so crushed to read that Ethel has passed.
I only just thought of her now after many years and was afraid that this had happened.
My mother, Mary Teresa Huebner, used to live next door to her.
I remember one Easter, I saw her sneaking around to the side door of the house and Mom told me to hide as she knew that Ethel was sneaking an Easter basket to her.
Later that day, Mom sent me over to sneak her Easter basket to her.
They did this every year my mother lived there in Dover Foxcroft from 2000 until she moved in 2008.
Mother is 94 now and in a nursing home with Alzheimer's although, she remembers how she and Ethel would always complain to each other about that darned sneaking Easter Bunny.
Bless her for being such a wonderful person and such a wonderful friend to my mother.

I was very sorry to hear about Ethel's passing. She was one of my very favorite people and I was very fortunate to have seen her about a week before she passed. She was always cheerful and smiling and when I went to visit her at Main Street West she was so pleased to have a tree with berries right outside her apartment window which was always loaded with birds. Since her apartment faced the woods she also saw a lot of other wildlife. I know it made her happy. I walk my dog every day by her home and I still keep thinking that I will see her.

Ethel was a lovely lady. She stood for grace and dignity. I volunteered beside her for many years at Pine Tree Hospice. A gentler lady you shall not find. Rest in Peace for your labor is done.

So sad to hear of Ethel’s passing. I loved listening to her stories when she would come into the salon. Always made her tell me a few every visit and told her she needed to write a book. Such an amazing life she had, and so much love for her family. Praying for you all.

I was saddened to hear of Ethel’s passing. But the Notice brought back such wonderful memories! She was such a stabilizing force at Thistle’s. And so positive ! In my mind’s eye, even now, I picture her in the front rooms making everyone comfortable and welcome. My deepest sympathies to all of you, her wonderful family.

Dear Elizabeth and family
So saddened to hear of the loss of your Mom. Ethel was such a delightful woman who I loved chatting with at church, Shaws or other places in Dover. She always had a smile and a very warm, friendly personality. Sincerely hope the many special memories you all have of Ethel will always bring a smile to your face and help ease the emptiness inside.
With our sympathy, Mary Lou and Bob

I am very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you in this difficult time. One encouraging thought you might find comforting is found at John 5:28, 29. “The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” God gives us this beautiful hope that he will soon resurrect our dead loved ones and we can see them again on a paradise earth. If you’d like to learn more about this hope, feel free to visit JW.org.
