Obituary of Maurice E. Marden

Dover-Foxcroft- Maurice E. Marden, 75, passed away March 25, 2018 at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. He was born November 12, 1942, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Roger and Evelyn (Nuite) Marden.

Maurice was a graduate of Foxcroft Academy, class of 1961.  He then went on to further his education at Southern Maine Community College.  Maurice enjoyed his 30 years as an Automotive Technology Instructor at Washington County Community College before his retirement in 2001.

Maurice was an avid snowmobiler. He enjoyed the sport year round as he was an active member of the Maine Snowmobile Association in which he received the award of Snowmobiler of the Year in 2015. Maurice also played a very large role over the years for the Piscataquis Valley Snowmobile Club where he volunteered countless hours which included trail work, grooming, organizing, and maintaining the snowmobile club’s Tucker Sno-Cat groomer. He will be greatly missed by the snowmobiling community and especially by the members of his local snowmobile club.

Maurice is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marion (Corson); sons, Craig and Roger; daughter, Jennifer; and grandchildren, Ashley, Shannon, Cooper, Ian, Steven, Sydney, Olivia, Owen, and Evelyn. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Eugene.

A memorial service will be held 11:00AM Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the United Baptist Church in Dover-Foxcroft with Pastor Chris Viera officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lafayette Family Cancer Center, 33 Whiting Hill Rd, Brewer, ME 04412. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
