Obituary of Conrad D. Rollins, Sr.
Parkman – Conrad D. Rollins, Sr., 75, husband of Vicki L. (Chick) Rollins, died suddenly November 24, 2017, while hunting at his home. He was born January 6, 1942, in South Berwick, the son of Harold J. Sr. and Edith Shirley (Goodwin) Rollins.
Conrad was a 1960 graduate of Traip Academy in Kittery. He furthered his education through General Motors and worked as service manager at Leighton Chevrolet in York. He also sold Polaris snowmobiles from his home in Kittery and in 1976, moved his business to Abbot. He owned and operated Conrad’s Sales and Service for 38 years, as New England’s oldest Polaris dealership.
He was an avid hunter and sportsman. As a registered Master Maine Guide, he opened and operated Double Buck Lodge in Stanley, New Brunswick. He was recently inducted into the Eastern Snowmobile Racing Hall of Fame, due to his racing success. In his younger years he had raced cars, also with a great deal of success.
Conrad became a Mason at Mt. Kineo Lodge #109, Guilford, in 1988, and served as Master in 2002 and 2003. He joined Anah Temple Shrine in 1995. He also served as Deputy of the 5th Masonic District of the Grand Lodge of Maine from 2004 to 2006.
Conrad is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Vicki Rollins of Parkman; two daughters, Michelle Hooper and her husband, David, of Searsmont, and Vicki O’Brien and her husband, Mike, of South Berwick; a sister, Connie Lombardi and her husband, Richard, of Quincy, MA; a sister-in-law, Judy Rollins of Dexter; six grandchildren, Kyle O’Brien, Dayna O’Brien, Shelby Hooper, Allison Hooper, Conrad D. “Trae” Rollins III, and Reagan M. Rollins; his father-in-law, Frederick C. Chick, Sr.; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Conrad D. “JR” Rollins, Jr., and a brother, Harold “Jerry” Rollins, Jr.
Friends are invited to call 6-8pm Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A funeral service which will include Masonic services, will be conducted 11am Thursday, November 30, at the Guilford United Methodist Church, with Pastor Reeni Cipullo officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Blanchard Cemetery, Abbot. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114.
