Obituary of Jean Meredith Brawn

GUILFORD - Jean Meredith Brawn, 82, of Guilford passed away on April 4, 2016 at home with her family. Jean was born in Dover-Foxcroft to Harvey Davis Thompson and Stella Ella Towne on May 3, 1933. She was a housewife and employed as a housekeeper at the Mayo Regional Hospital for several years. She was an avid reader and a cat-lover. She frequented the public libraries for 70 years. Jean is survived by her 5 daughters: Margaret and Steve Mcleod of St. Albans, Barbara and Alan Nickerson of Sangerville, Mary and Thomas Noethlich of Pensacola, FL, Rosemarie and Raymond McInnis, Dexter, Jane and Vance McNaughton, Ripley. Seven grandchildren: Torrey Mcleod, Alan Nickerson, Daisy McInnis, Cara Higginbottom, Ann Chaisson, Elizabeth McInnis, and Ariel Noethlich, in addition to seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Arthur Brawn. Her 7 siblings: Ruth, Elwood, Janet, Ion, Eleanor, Margaret and Ruby. In June a celebration of her life and subsequent burial will occur at the family camp. Memorial donations may be made to the Thompson Free Library, 186 E Main St, Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Community Health and Counseling Services (Hospice) and Dover-Foxcroft Family Medicine.
