Obituary of Katheryn Reny Anderson

Corinna and Orono - Katheryn Reny Anderson, 97, after a long and fulfilling life, passed away October 10, 2017, at her Dirigo Pines residence in Orono.  She was born January 20, 1920, in Waterville, the daughter of Arthur L. Reny and Alice Malone Reny.

Kay was educated in the Waterville schools and was a graduate of Colby College, Class of 1940, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She enjoyed a career as an elementary teacher and later enjoyed her retirement years in Florida.

Katheryn was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Robert F. Anderson, and a great-granddaughter, Makenna Freese.  She is survived by her greatest treasures: daughter, Alicia Freese and husband, Dana, of Newport; grandsons, Robert Freese and wife, Jennifer, of Brewer, and Michael Freese of St. Petersburg, Russia; and two great-grandsons, Kayden and Parker Freese, who brought her boundless joy.

Kay touched many hearts and will be remembered fondly as a very special lady and a loyal New York Yankee fan.

Private services will be held at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, and burial will be at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft.  Condolences and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
