Dover-Foxcroft - Reverend M. Lester Strout, 80, went home to be with his Lord on February 23, 2017. He was born September 1, 1936, in Milo, the son of Lester and Jenny (Giberson) Strout. After graduating from Bradford High School, he attended New Brunswick Bible Institute, graduating in 1958. He did interim pastoring for several years. His first full-time ministry was at Calvary Congregational Church in Andover, Maine. From there he went to the Portland Congregational Church in Portland, New York. He served eight years, respectively, at both of these churches. He retired after seventeen and one-half years of ministry, pastoring at the 1st Parish Congregational Church of Pownal, Maine. His main focuses of his ministry were foreign missions and he loved hosting missions conferences. He enjoyed camping, fishing, music, entertaining, and relaxing at home watching the Red Sox and the Patriots. He also enjoyed travelling the United States and Canada. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Betty Viola (Weatherby); his sister-in-law, Joy Weatherbey; brother-in-law, Allan Weatherbey and his wife, Irene; and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call 6:00-8:00pm Monday, February 27 at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. Funeral services will be held at the United Baptist Church of Dover-Foxcroft at 2:00pm on Tuesday February 28.
