Obituary of Adeline E. Dauphinee
Guilford and Dover-Foxcroft- Adeline Elizabeth (Boutin) Dauphinee, 94, passed away peacefully February 18, 2017, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft. She was born January 7, 1923, in Rockwood, the 5th of 7 children to Joseph Arthur Leonidas Boutin and Margaret Elizabeth (Kelly) Boutin.
Adeline grew up in Rockwood and attended their elementary and grammar school before the family moved to Greenville where Adeline graduated from high school. After high school, Adeline went to work in the office at Atlas Plywood Company. She married Lawrence Bryce Dauphinee on September 27, 1947, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Greenville. Together they built a home in North Guilford, where they raised their family. Adeline was a devoted member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Sangerville, and served as a member of the Guilford CARPO Club and the Dawn of Hope Grange in North Guilford. She worked as a teacher’s aide in the Abbot Elementary School and was later employed in the business office of Hardwood Products.
After Lawrence died in 1999, Adeline moved to the Guilford Senior Citizens Housing at Riverbend Homes in Guilford, and then in November 2009, she moved to Pleasant Meadows assisted living facility in Dover-Foxcroft. In 2015, Adeline became a resident at Hibbard Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft.
Throughout her life, Adeline enjoyed visits to the Maine coast and her hometowns of Greenville and Rockwood. She took major trips to visit relatives in Ireland, to the Holy Land of Israel, and a train ride across Canada with Lawrence in the 1980’s.
Adeline is survived by two sons, Daniel and his wife, Rebecca, of Glenburn, and Jeffrey and his wife, Sharon, of Matthews, NC; her daughter-in-law, April Dauphinee of Guilford; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of more than 51 years, Lawrence; her son, Timothy; and by all 6 of her siblings, William, Anna, Alphonse “Alphie”, Mary (Sandberg), and Patrick “Jimmy”.
Family and friends may visit 9:30-10:30AM Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, with a memorial mass conducted at 11AM at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Dover-Foxcroft, with Father Emile Dube officiating. After the services a luncheon will be held at the Abbot Town Hall. Burial will be in the family lot in the Greenville Cemetery in the spring.
