Brownville and Anderson, SC – Ruby F. Dawson 93, wife of the late John Dawson, passed away March 16, 2016, at an Anderson, SC, health care facility. She was born December 21, 1922, in Brownville, the daughter of William S. and Gladys (Ladd) Hughes. Mrs. Dawson was a registered nurse. She was a member of the Brownville Community Church and she attended the Ruhamah United Methodist Church in Starr, SC. She was predeceased by sisters, Hazel Cote, Ruth Rendzia, Violet Hughes, and brothers, Marlin, David and Harry Hughes. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Violet Grant of Brownville, Ina Banker and Alice MacLeod of Milo, Ruby Grindle of Arizona, Keith Rendzia of Sebec and Walter Rendzia of Virginia. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at the family lot in Brownville Village Cemetery later in the spring. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ruhamah United Methodist Church, 114 Ruhamah Church Road, Starr, SC 29684. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home, Milo.
