Mary was born on November 29, 1926, in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada, the only daughter of the late Charles Backman and Margaret (Comeau) Robicheau. Mary was married to Edward Derhak for 53 years before his passing in October, 2009. Her entire life centered around family, and raising her five children, which she did selflessly. After relocating from Dover-Foxcroft to Londonderry, NH, and Whitesboro, NY, they returned to their beloved adopted hometown of Dover-Foxcroft in 2004 to retire. Mary was a faithful parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and a generous supporter of many different charities. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who loved her. Mary is survived by her 5 children, Joseph and his wife, Sharon, of Northwood, NH, Elizabeth of Dover-Foxcroft, John, currently of Brno, Czech Republic, Kevin and his wife, Christine, of Londonderry, NH, and Robert and his wife, Rebecca, of Falmouth. She also leaves behind fifteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of whom she took great pride in, and loved very much. Mary is also survived by her brother, John Comeau and cousin, Vivian Williams of Nova Scotia, along with many other relatives in Canada. The family of Mary Derhak would like to thank Beacon Hospice for the outstanding care of their mother, including a very special thank you for Amanda. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Spring burial will be in the family lot in the Dover Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Mary's memory to Alz.org.
