Obituary of Candace Ann Jordan

Bangor and Sangerville - Candace Anne Jordan, 76, passed away peacefully January 13, 2025, at Hibbard Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft, with family by her side. She was born June 5, 1948, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Lawrence “Jake” and Arlene (Knowlton) Jordan. Candace was a graduate of P.C.H.S., Class of 1966, and she attended Husson University. Candace worked as a Senior Prospect Research Specialist at the University of Maine’s Development Office, retiring in 2014, after serving 28 years. She served on the boards of the American Red Cross and the American Cancer Society. Candace also served 5 years on the University of Maine President’s Council of Retired Employees. She was a former volunteer for Make-A-Wish Foundation. Candace is survived by her precious daughter, Christine Jordan Miller and husband, Darrell; grandson, Dusty; granddaughter, Cassidy; siblings, Gregory Jordan and wife, Bev, Toni Pinkham and husband, Bill, Kelly Jordan and wife, Nancy, and Brad Jordan and significant other, Sheryl; nieces, Kim and husband, Nate, Jennifer, and Brittawny; nephews, Chad Kimball and wife, Stephanie, Andrew Jordan and wife, Nico, and Matthew Pinkham. She was predeceased by her parents. Candace was blessed to have many wonderful friends like Kim and Habib Dagher, Dolores Roberts, Barbara LaPlante, and Janice Melmed, who made her life full and blessed. Candace was a very kind, caring and giving person. She loved God, friends, and family and will be missed by all. A memorial service to celebrate Candace’s life will be held 2PM Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Lary Funeral Home, with Pastor Michael Rhyne officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bangor in the early spring.
