Bertha Mae Lyford Obituary

Orneville - Bertha Mae Lyford, 84, left on her final journey to her heavenly home and her Lord on January 12, 2025. She was born September 28, 1940, to Percy and Pearle Billington in Sangerville.


Bertha worked at Dexter Shoe for 26 years before she went to work for Reuben’s Market for 12 years where she made great pizza. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 41 for many years where she enjoyed doing the member record keeping, talking with people, and helping organize food for events.


Bertha is survived by her sons, Greg Lyford and wife, Deborah, and Tony Lyford and wife, Stephanie; grandchildren, Kirby Lyford and wife, Abby, Allison Woodard and husband, Phil, Ashley Lyford, Douglas Lyford and wife, Olivia, Michael and Jordan Lyford; great-grandchildren, Kallie, Colton, Leigha, and Konnor; special nephew, Michael and wife, Marsha; and many other nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Elton “Sonny” Billington; sister, Beryl Tolbert; son, Kirby Lyford; daughter, Darlene (Lyford) Hoxie; grandson, Dylan Lyford; and the father of her children, Roland Lyford.


There will be a celebration of life at the American Legion Auxiliary in Milo on March 29, 2025 from 1:00-5:00. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
