Dover-Foxcroft – Sonja I. Philbrook, 82, passed away January 3, 2025, at Northern Light Mayo Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born October 17, 1942, in Monson, the daughter of Charles and Lillian (Stymiest) Strom. Sonja was devoted to her family and her faith. Sonja’s career varied from being employed through the Tannery, Hathaway Shirt Company, IGA and Ames department store. She went on to receive her diploma through FA in 1992, alongside her husband; a very proud moment for the family. Sonja’s hobbies included quilting, crocheting, and knitting. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with family and especially her grandchildren. One can say, “family was her life.” Sonja is survived by her son, Raymond Philbrook and his wife, Cynthia; three daughters, Darlene Nye and her husband, Gary, Lynn Osborn and her husband, Darren, Bonnie Allen and her fiancé, Freddie; seven grandchildren, Sierra, Andrea, Seth, Austin, Samantha, Alexandra, and Michaela; one great-grandchild, Kairee; four brothers, Wayne Levesque and his wife, Cheri, Richard Strom and his wife, Linda, Johnny Strom, Norman Strom and his wife, Suzzane; five sisters, Jeannette Bickmore, Robin Mishou and her husband, Wally, Merlene Thibodeau, Inez Strom Stock, and Belinda Badger; special friends, Russell and Karen LaBlanc, Nancy Taylor, Kathy Ryder, Betty Thebarge, and Denise Nutter; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Lenwood “Lennie” Philbrook; and son-in-law, Dennis Allen. A celebration of life will be held June 21st, details to follow.
