Obituary of Richard Walter Chudzikiewicz
Richard Walter Chudzikiewicz, age 76, went home to be with our Lord on December 12th, 2024, at his home, surrounded by love from his wife and daughters. Born on August 11th, 1948, in Elizabeth New Jersey. Richard attended Linden High School, where he was celebrated as a standout athlete. His ability to hit home runs off anything thrown at him earned him such recognition that the New York Yankees sought to sign him at age 18. However, his father's decision redirected Richard's path to academia.
Richard then attended Park College, where he earned a degree in Chemistry. After marrying his loving wife, Nellie, he attended Cleveland University Chiropractic and Health Sciences in Kansas City, where he achieved his Doctorate of Chiropractic. Dr. Rick, as he was known to many, devoted himself to his patients, caring for many to bring them relief with his amazing ability to gently adjust the body.
He was also known as Pastor Rich, a true disciple and servant of the Lord. Richard found Jesus and learned about salvation in West Pittson, Pennsylvania, where Bishop Webb shared with him the message and meaning of Acts 2:38, "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Richard was baptized in Jesus' name and was filled with the Holy Ghost. Years later, he became ordained by the church to pastor his own small spirit-filled flock in Marlboro, Massachusetts. He absolutely adored his flock and ministering to them. Richard loved the Lord and would witness to anyone he came in contact with. Even during his last days at the hospital, he brought the word of the Lord to everyone he met, and they were all drawn to him and his messages.
Richard had a joyful life and, during his time here, raised two beautiful daughters, Jennifer and Emily, with his wife of 53 years, Nellie Ann. The house was always filled with love, joy, and lots of laughter, especially when his grandchildren arrived: David, Marco, Katie, Mitchell, and Gabriella. Known as Poppie, he enjoyed his grandchildren immensely. Their most memorable times with him were sleepovers at Poppie and GeeGee's house, watching movies like "Nacho Libre," and waking up to enjoy Poppie's breakfast, affectionately known as "I-Popps." We thank the Lord for our husband, father, Poppie, and brother in the Lord.
Richard is preceded in death by his father, Peter Chudzikiewicz, his mother, Antoinette Chudzikiewicz, and his sister, Elizabeth Chudzikiewicz. He is survived by his devoted wife, Nellie Ann Chudzikiewicz, his cherished daughters and their spouses, Jennifer Pomerleau and Dean Smith, and Emily and Craig Klinedinst, his cherished grandchildren, David Carr III, Marco Carr, Katie Weed, Mitchell Klinedinst, and Gabriella Klinedinst, his brother, Dr. Edward Chudzikiewicz, and his brother in-law and sister-in-law and their spouses, Nicholas and Rosyln Chonko, and Gail and Arthur Russo, along with all his nieces and nephews.
The family has chosen not to hold a service at this time. Honoring Richard's wishes, In lieu of flowers, Richard has requested donations be made to the New Life Apostolic Church in West Pittson, PA. Please copy this link to give: https://give.tithe.ly/?formId=243c9804-ed44-4acb-895e-57ef21b85f73
