Greenville – Joyce A. Whitney, 91, wife of the late Francis V. Whitney, passed away December 2, 2024, at Northern Light CA Dean Hospital in Greenville. She was born April 4, 1933, in Monticello, the daughter of Leighton H. and Geneva H. (Prosser) Shaw.

Joyce is survived by two sons, Michael Lizotte and his wife, Jacqueline, and Stephen Lizotte and his wife, Roxanne, six grandchildren, Heather, Joe, Christine, Jamie, Jonah, and Keisha; ten great-grandchildren, Jacob, Hannah, Andrew, Camden, Colton, Connor, Reese, Haley, Danielle, and Brynn; one great-great-grandchild, Mayven; and several nieces and nephews. IN addition to her loving husband, Francis, Joyce was predeceased by her parents; her daughter, Carolyn Smith; all five siblings, Merlin and Arthur Shaw, Goldina Turner, Beatrice Laskey, and Elsie Bouley; and a great-grandson, Riley Lizotte.
