Obituary of Carol Evelyn (Koelsch) Lemmon

Milo and Orono - Carol Evelyn (Koelsch) Lemmon, 62, passed away peacefully September 26, 2024, at Orono Commons. She was born December 30, 1961, in Neptune, New Jersey, the daughter of William and Margaret Koelsch. She grew up and attended schools in Lakewood, New Jersey. Carol worked for Dexter Shoe for several years before becoming a caretaker for her parents with her late sister, Deborah. Carol was a member of the Brownville United Methodist Church. Carol had a warm heart and a free spirit. She was kind, loving, funny, and a joy to be around. Earlier in her life she could be found laughing and dancing around the house listening to music. Carol was a social butterfly and enjoyed the company of people; especially her friend, Marie. One of Carol’s favorite activities was playing Bingo while she resided at Orono Commons. Most importantly Carol was passionate about her family and was always checking in to hear about what was going on in their lives. Carol had an extra special place in her heart for her grandchildren, Ian and Hailey. The family wanted to give a sincere thank you to all of the staff at Orono Commons and the Hospice workers who all showed so much care and compassion during this time. Carol is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Lemmon and her fiancé, Benjamin Way; grandchildren, Ian and Hailey Gerrish; brother, Charles Koelsch; nephew, Colby Koelsch; nieces, Tiffany Burns, and Lisa Munro and her husband, Nick; great-nieces, Alexa and Jahmin Burns; and great-nephews, William and Conor Munro. She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Deborah Burns; brother, William Koelsch Jr.; and nephew, William Koelsch III.
