Upon his New Jersey retirement in 2002he and his family moved to Greenville, Maine where he taught Social Studies at Greenville Consolidated School for several years. Noel fell in love with the Moosehead area on his first visit to Rockwood in the early 60’s. He was an outdoor enthusiast that enjoyed fishing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, skiing – you name it, he did it. You were likely to see him riding his daily bike route around Birch Street, snowmobiling out on the trails, or obsessively washing his truck in the driveway. He was a dedicated member of the Greenville community serving on the School Board, Sanitary District, Planning Board and Friends of the Mountain. Noel was always willing to be engaged in helping the community. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Linda (Herrmann), his son Josh and daughter- in- law Aimee along with his two grandchildren Olivia and Lani, his brother, Ernest Bruce Wohlforth of Florida, his brother-in-law John F. Herrmann of Vineland, New Jersey and sisters-in-law Doris and Mary. Noel enjoyed a full and active life. He was a trusted steward of his community, and he knew the lifelong torture that it is to be a Philadelphia sports fan, but the thing that mattered most to him was his family and his treasured wife Linda. He will be dearly missed. Fly Eagles Fly! A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Wednesday, September 11, at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Greenville.
