Sangerville – Joyce Ileen Hathorn Ellis, 76, passed away August 2, 2024, at Northern Light Mayo Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. She was born December 5, 1947, in the same hospital, the daughter of Newton and Myrtle (Hill) Hathorn. She grew up in Parkman and attended Parkman and Guilford schools. She worked at Hathaway Shirt, Dexter Shoe, and Pride Manufacturing. She owned horses and dogs all her life, raising German Shepherds for many years. She and her husband of 48 years, Alan, were past active members of Dirigo Horsemen’s Association and Dexter Riding Club.

Joyce was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Milton, Edward, Robert Bingham, and Stephen Hathorn; sisters, Ruth Leduc, Violet Hayes, and Goldie Panzini. She is survived by her husband, Alan; and sister, Albina Clements, of Milo.
