Williamsburg, Maine - Susan R. Worcester (Crane), (SusieQ), 73, of Williamsburg, Maine, went home to Jesus peacefully with her loved ones by her side on July 18, 2024. Susan was born on September 27,1950, in Bangor, Maine to Clifford and Marguerite Crane who have predeceased her. Susan was the baby of the family and is survived by her three sisters, Carol Thomas, Roberta Morin, and Nanette Wescott; nieces: Cheryl Foss, Barbara Brann, Jamie Morrin, and Marcia Wescott-Luszczki; nephews: David Morin, Michael Wescott (deceased), Richard Wescott. Susan was very close to her sisters, and they would try every year to take a trip together. Susan is survived by her loving husband, Fred Worcester. They were married on July 14, 1976. If you saw one of them, you knew the other wasn’t far away…Susan is survived by her sister-in law; Linda LaBlanche (husband Richard) of New Hampshire; and brother in-law, Ellis Worcester of North Carolina; three stepchildren: Larry Worcester (wife Kim) of Washburn, David Worcester (wife Melissa) of Scarborough and Cindy Seifert (husband Jon) of Kenduskeag; four grandchildren; Mitchell Worcester, Mackenzie Turner (husband Mason), Nicholas Manderelli, and Nicole Sapan(wife Leah). Susan was also blessed with a great-grandchild, Emmett Turner, who was born this year. She was the matriarch of our family. Susan always remembered birthdays and anniversaries of her family and friends. She made each holiday so memorable. Susan graduated from Erskine Academy in South China, Maine in April of 1968 with High Honors. Then she continued her education at UMF. She started her career in 1972 as a Special Education Teacher. Her love for music developed into a group of educators becoming the Notables and performing for many years throughout the district. Later she moved on to become Special Education Director until she retired in 2011. Even after retirement she continued as the Gifted and Talented and Mentor Program Coordinator until fully retiring in 2014. Susan's journey touched the lives of many, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of strength and resilience. Susan’s biggest passion in life was music. She spent countless hours perfecting her ability and playing the organ for her church, St. John’s Episcopal. Her other contributions at the church included reader, leader of morning prayer, secretary/treasurer, organist, member of the Bishop’s Committee, member of ECW, and choir. She dedicated a lot of her time to the Penquis Cruiser Club where she and Fred together shared a passion for classic cars. When she attended her first car show with Fred, she brought a book with her to sit and read, but she never even picked up the book, she was too busy meeting everyone. Susan was also involved in the Brownville-Brownville Jct. Historical Society where she, with the help of other volunteers, were able to raise a lot of money to put back into the building and community. Neither can we forget the chocolate pizzas she made each year around Christmas, donating all proceeds to local charities. A funeral service will be held 10AM Monday, July 22, 2024, at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, 26 Henderson Street, Brownville Junction. Interment will follow the funeral at Pine Tree Cemetery, Brownville Junction. After the services a reception will be held at the Bernard Jones American Legion Post 92, 67 Railroad Avenue, Brownville Junction.
